Brag Book - Accordion Tag Album

I made a brag book for my mom and called it Mak Tok's Brag Book. It's filled with lots and lots of pictures of her grandchildren. We all know how much grandmas like to brag to their friends about the grandchildren. Well, this time my mom can not only brag about them, but also show pictures of them. I hope she likes it.

I used a ribbon and connected the two ends with Queen&Co's Hook Ups - Hottie List and secured it with a snap button

Capture Life Create Art

I'm trying my hands at altering art. It's when you take something and alter it into a piece of art. I was browing through Scrapperlicious' blog one day and come upon an altered jigsaw puzzle. Click here to see her gorgeous work. I was so inspired and I decided to try my hand at it. So last night I cilok Nadiah's old puzzles and painted them with acrylic paint. I had started with a 4-piece puzzle but Nadiah happened to see me painting on her puzzles and decided to join in. So she got out a 6-piece one and wanted to paint on it too. We painted it with Making Memories Acrylic Paint - Razzleberry and left it to dry overnight.

This morning, I get Nadiah to stamp flowers using Making Memories Foam Stamps which I have not used in a long time.

Then we stuck some pictures of her and embellished with flowers, stickers, chipboards and brads. I remember Ali Edwards' favourite words which are "Capture life. Create art". I thought that the words were just right so I titled the piece just so and we were done.

A = Adore

I am making an A-Z album for Nadiah. I've actually been meaning to do this for a long time now, but could not decide what size the album should be. So now I am decided. The album would be 8x8. After all, it is the size that I'm most comfortable with. I think the first LO would be N for NADIAH which I have already done. You can go here to view the layout.

Today I finished "A" which is for "ADORE." As usual, I planned to do something and ended up with something else.. even using different paper. So here it is

I did a lot of cut-outs using my trusty old craft knife. I used to love doing that but with so many ready-made die cuts and stickers, I have been neglecting my craft knife. Here I cut out the leaves, the flowers and the word "adore".






I love this picture of Nadiah. It was purely an accident shot but it came out great. And the fact that I had printed it out in black and white enhances the whole layout.

Sarah Alya: A 4x4 Mini Album

I made a small chipboard album for my cousin's daughter, Sarah Alya. She is such a beautiful girl and photographs really well that it was a pleasure to make her this gift. It's a decorated double sided 4x4 chipboard squares connected by a strand of ribbon.

Here I made a shaker box using painted and stamped chipboard frame, some sequins and acetate sheet to cover on top.

Zoo Exploding Box

Yeay!! I'm so happy that I finally get to use the exploding box that I made a long time ago. It has been standing on the book shelf all this while. A good thing the shelf has glass door or dust would have gathered on the box... hehee!!

Anyway, our recent zoo trip produced many, many pictures and I decided to print most of them tiny sizes and they fit nicely in the box.

ATC: All About You ATC Swap

This month I joined an ATC Swap hosted in Scrap-N-Crop Forum. It's fun... 12 people joined where each have to make 11 ATCs to give out to the others. At the back of the ATC we are to write down our name, email, blog, address and anything else we would like the others to know.



I made 6 different designs; 2 of each. Well, they are actually the same design, but using different techniques. Here are my six:

Another Mystery Box

I got back from KL last night. It was a long and tiring drive with rain pouring all the way. But what a nice welcoming home feeling when I saw a 'mystery box' waiting for me. Yeay!! Finally it has arrived.

Yes, bought myself another mystery box off eBay last month. But admittedly this wasn't as nice as the first one. Loads of stickers though. Some papers, a packet of eyelets, a packet of snaps, a packet of lovely blue bling-blings, a book of Making Memories alpha rub ons and more and more.

Oh, and also a cute blue and brown scrapping tote.

Sticker Albums

Now that I've got loads of stickers, I'm finding it hard to store them neatly. I used to keep them in a clear folder but I find that they keep sliding in and out of the pouches. And the folders is getting really fat. So last night I made an album for the little ones like Jolee's Boutique etc. I've made two and planning to make more for the alphas and numbers. It's easy to browse through and are not so thick and fat.

ATC

Artist Trading Cards or ATC is defined by Wikipedia as "individual art miniatures which pass hand to hand. Their current popularity among artists and hobbyists was sparked by M. Vänçi Stirnemann, who began trading sessions in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1997, and popularized ATCs via the internet"

I understand that the only rule for an ATC is that the size should be 2.5" x 3.5", which is the same size as a commercial trading cards such as baseball cards. The 'artist' usually sign and date the back of the card and generally made for trading purposes.

For the first time I am taking part in a trade hosted by Scrapperlicious in Scrap-n-Crop Forum, which will be between 12 participants. I guess I am one of the 'artists' :D. Am very excited to be part of this ATC swap and have been giving it a lot of thought of what my card would be like. I'll post here when they are done.

RM15 Challenge

December challenge for Lovescrap Forum entitled: RM15 Challenge. You are to create a layout using items that cost no more than RM 15.00. This was quite a toughie but I managed. Here are my list of supplies:

I cut out the flowers from one of the pattern papers and layered them, using double-sided foam tape to add dimension.

Friends Forever

I hosted an online crop on Lovescrap Forum a few weeks ago. It was a stamping technique which used masks which was fun to do. This is the one that I had done to teach the technique.

Irfan

A layout I made for my adorable nephew Irfan. It was kinda a surprise present for his parents for Irfan's first birthday in November.



Again I stamped blue ink on the alphas and embossed the silver dots on them.

Here I took a piece of white cardstock and stuck the word 'boy' on it. Stamped the whole piece with blue ink and sprinkle some clear embossing powder all over and heat. When it's harden, I used tweezers to pick out the stickers. And voila!! It gives a negative effect.
