Guest Designer at Scrappin Studio (Pt.2)

Good morning.

I'm back again with the 2nd part of my guest designer work reveal with Scrappin Studio. Without further ado, here's another layout and a mini album.

2nd Layout - Beautiful Perth

It's a simple layout with not much techniques except for the masking.

2nd altered project - Pocket Tag Mini Album

In one of the kits that I received, there was a set of beautiful vintage 7Gypsies tags. So I decided to make pockets from the papers in the kit to slot in the tags.

I used the pages on the right to put single words to describe Nadiah and the pages on the left are filled with beautiful quotes.

Love those buttons. they're so pretty!!

I loved making this mini album and let me tell you, it didn't take that much time to do too!

Guest Designer at Scrappin Studio (Pt.1)

Hello everyone.

As the title suggests, this month I have been invited by the lovely Jaime Lee to be the Guest Designer over at Scrappin Studio. You may know that SS carries the awesome kits by Studio Calico. I was asked to do 4 projects which consists of 2 layouts and 2 altered projects. Please go over HERE to see my work and from there you can just follow the links to the store and get your own kits.

Today I'll be posting two of my work for Scrappin Studio, with some close-ups.

1st layout - So Sweet

1st altered project - 2000, An Altered Canvas Back

The back of a canvas frame makes a great picture frame. The photo was taken more than 10 years ago and hubby and I was sitting at the edge of a boat pier, dangling our feet down. But instead of sticking the photo inside the frame, I stuck it on the ledge of the frame. It makes it look like we're about to jump into the canvas frame.

Song Inspired Layouts

Hello everyone!!

I have a couple of layouts to share today. Both were inspired by songs. Well one is, and the other is actually from a movie. Anyways, here is the first layout:





Inspired by the song "Dream On" by Aerosmith. Love that song!! Struggle to sing the high notes, but it has never stop me from trying every single time, though :D.

Most of the items are from Scrappin Studio's Studio Calico Licorice Twist kit. Lots of Cosmo Cricket in this one.

Next layout:






Inspired by the movie '3 Idiots'. It's a Hindi movie and I have to say that it's one of the best I've seen. The storyline was good, the music was good, some scenes may be unbelievable but hey, there's a morale to be learned and it's very inspiring. I laughed, I cried and pretty much loved the whole story.

In the movie, Rancho, who is the lead character, whenever he wants to calm himself he would
tap his heart and say "all is well" over and over. Only that what he says sounds "al izz vell". It's so funny. Well ok, you'll have to watch it to understand.

Anyway, I've sidetracked quite a bit. Coming back to this layout, I made it using Studio Calico's Lollipop and Pulled Taffy kits. Just love the yellow, teal and brown combo.

Be Happy, My Little Lady

Hello beautiful people!!

I have 2 layouts to share today. Actually I have been sooo productive these couple of days that I made not 1, not 2, but 6... yes, SIX layouts!! But I'm only showing 2 today and will share the others in a few days.

Ok, both are from the February Studio Calico add-on kits that I got from Scrappin Studio. First up is Be Happy. Made from a combination of the Lollipop, Pulled Taffy and Licorice Twist kits. Loving the red envelope from Making Memories!!!

I just love that metal vintage flower from Sassafra Lass!!

The second layout that I'm sharing today is My Little Lady. Also made from a combination of the three add-on kits.



How about that black Bo Bunny flower? Ain't it cute? I love it!! And that pom-pom trim? Too cute!!

So that's just two of the layouts I made recently. Next I'll be sharing a special first-try-technique
layout that I was inspired by an amazing scrapper. It's different from my layouts that I've been doing lately. That's in a few days so do come back and check in a day or two, aight!!

Always On The Phone

This here is a layout I made with my last stash from January Studio Calico kits from Scrappin Studio. I love the photo of hubby that I used as it shows him being on the phone even though we were 5,000 ft high up on a mountain, and nothing seems to stop him from his business calls.



I love those Sassafras Lass alpha stickers that came in the kit. I had actually inked the alphas with Spiced Marmalade distress ink to match hubby's shirt in the photo. But can't actually see it in here.

Last Two Layouts for January

Hello hello!!

It's already the last day of January. How time flies. Before we know it, it'll be December and we're getting ready for another new year.

I am happy to have done quite a number of layouts for this month, compared to the last few months. Things have settled down a little that I've had some free time to scrap.... and I likey!!! :D
I managed to squeeze out two more layouts from the Studio Calico kits and the first is titled:

Just The 2 Of Us









Inspired by Iris Uy's layout for Scrappin Studio from THIS post, where she inked the resist Pink Paislee paper. It's so beautiful that I had to scraplift her technique.

Materials used: Patterned papers: Pink Paislee, Basic Grey. Alpha stickers: Sassafras Lass, Basic Grey. Circle frame: Pink Paislee. Swirly pearls: ZVA Creative. Flowers: Prima Marketing. Stickers: Basic Grey. Journaling card: My Mind's Eye. Others: Tim Holtz distress ink pads (Shabby Shutters, Barn Door, Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Crushed Olive).

I used 2 papers from the Who's Who kit and I absolutely adore October Afternoon's Campsite: Animal Tracks paper, which I've cut up to embellish around the photo. Then I added cardstock stickers from Sassafras Lass from my own collection to add to the embellishment. I love the 'cartoony' feel of them. Something different from what I usually do.

Here's another layout I made using Scrappin Studio's Studio Calico kit Who's Who.



The Office Pockets from KI Memories... LOVE IT!!! It's so cute. Love those Basic Grey's Curio Decorative Stickers too!!

I'm not the best at doodling, but I love the effect. I always try to limit my doodling to the minimum.

Oh, love that books stamp from Studio Calico too!!

Swim Like A Fish

Just recently a new kit club was launched in Malaysia and it's called Scrappin Studio. What I like most about it is that they carry Studio Calico kits - main and add-0ns. I was so excited that I straightaway ordered some and didn't waste anytime creating a layout or two.

I was browsing the Scrappin Studio blog this morning and noticed that they are having a challenge hosted by DT Amelia, to create a layout with flowers in it.

One of the layouts I did recently has flowers in it; albeit paper ones so I hope paper flowers counts :D. So here's my take:



I love these Sassafras Lass cardstock flowers that came in the kit. The hearts and the girl are stamped with clear acrylic stamps. Both came in the add-on kit, Mary Jane.


Most of the items used came from the kits except for those chipboard alphas that spell S-W-I-M, the chipboard stickers and the journaling card.



I used items from the main kit, Who's Who and add-on kit, Mary Jane. I seldom create layouts which are bright and cheerie. Most times I'm a flower and vintage and distressed kinda a scrapper. But this was fun and I love those border sticker sheets that we got in the kit. Loving the sunny feeling of the whole layout.
