Look!

Ok, here's a layout I did for Scrap|Inspire|Create. For the month of July, the challenge is a sketchy one. Oh.. and NO CARDSTOCK!! I actually forgot the last bit and only remember as I'm posting this on the blog. It's a good thing I didn't use any ;D.

Here's the sketch...

and here's my take:

Flower made from Pink Paislee ruffled ribbon and added a beautiful pearl and crystal center.

I used mostly items from Pink Paislee 365 Degrees which I'm trying to use up, but unfortunately there's still a bunch left. I love that clear sticker border especially and always try to used some.

Photo is of Nadiah at the zoo (yeah, where else?) pointing out the flamingo to us. She loves those flamingos... and the hippos, tigers, lions, kangaroo and whatever animals they have there!

Materials used:
Patterned papers, border sticker, ruffled ribbon, journaling cards : Pink Paislee. Flower center: Petaloo. Chipboard alphas: Creative Imaginations. Swirly crystals: ZVA. Ink: Faded Jeans Distress ink. Others: Glimmer Mist.

Target: 100 layouts
Done: 47 layouts
To do: 53 layouts

Us

Almost two weeks of no scrapping and now I'm back with a vengeance. I managed to finish 5 layouts in two days and some will be revealed now and others later on.

The first is a layout made for Scrap Inspire Create May challenge. This month SIC is hosting a sketch challenge. Please head HERE to see the sketch. Here's my take:

I used my very brand new Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage collection. I love the beautiful and bright colours of this line. Just reminds me of berries :D.

Photo is of Nadiah and me taken recently at a lunch event. I just love this photo. No matter what other people say, I still think that me and her looks the same in here.

Materials used: Alpha stickers: Making Memories. Alpha chipboard: Maya Road. Glitter: Stickles. Everything else: Pink Paislee Bayberry collection

Target: 100 layouts

The Peace Sign

At the very last minute, I decided to join in the fun at Scrap|Inspire|Create, celebrating their 2nd anniversary. I can't believe that it's been two years already. It seems like only yesterday that I got to know Jazz and she decided to start a challenge blog.

SIC is having a unique kind of challenge with a little twist. Please go HERE to see the challenge and the twist is TWO... anything that represents TWO. I chose Set A which means I can only use products from Webster's Pages, Prima and K&Co only. I'm afraid as of this very minute, if you haven't done the layout, you only have slightly over an hour to finish it and submit. Like I said.. it's very last minute for me :D

Here's my take:

I used, and ONLY used products from WP, Prima and K&Co. I didn't even mist or distress with ink, in case that is not allowed and I'll be disqualified. The twist TWO is the two fingers Nadiah hold up to make the peace sign. The photo is really about the peace sign. I am teaching her to pose with the peace sign when taking pictures. I doubt she knows what it means but it's fun looking at her holding up her two fingers; sometimes with a cheeky grin on her face...

SIC Pick & mix Challenge

Scrap|Inspire|Create is having another interesting challenge this month, which is Picking & Mixing. What you have to do is to pick one theme for a layout, which you are given 4 choices. The each DTs has come out with 5 scrapbooking items/techniques each and you would have to pick one from each list and mix them together in your layout. Please go to the blog to see the list and for further details.

I picked the theme Summer Breeze and picked Janiah's pearls, Yvonne's crackle paint, Eirnna's buttons and my own stamps. So here's my take:

I have to say that making this layout was kinda sad because this is my last DT layout with SIC. But it has been a fantastic and challenging 6 months and I would like to say a very big thank you to Jazz for the wonderful opportunity and also to my fellow Creative Team members: Janiah, Yvonne and Eirnna... you guys have been such an inspiration!!

Materials used: Diecut papers: Basic Grey, KI Memories. Stickers: Bazzill Basics, EK Success. Chipboard scroll: Maya road. Buttons: Various. Clear stamp: Technique Tuesday. Ink pad: StazOn. Pearls: Kaisercraft. Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint

Faces Of You (SIC August Challenge)

Hi everyone. It's been some time since I've had the time to do much scrapping. Most that I've done are for DT jobs.

Anyway, this month Scrap|Inspire|Create has an interesting challenge for you over at their blog. For August, you are to make a layout with a collage of ATCs in it. The number of ATCs used is not specified, so you can make as much as you like.

Here's my take:

I made 4 ATCs to show the different expressions of Nadiah's. I made the background and papers surrounding the ATCs are mostly earthy colours so that the vibrant look of the ATCs would stand out.

So hop over to SIC to enter August challenge or just to ooohhs and aahhhs the other DT's fantastic job!!

Materials used: Patterned papers: Collage Press, Crate Paper. Alphabet stickers: Collage Press. Chipboard elements: Kaisercraft, Pink Paislee. Brads: SEI. Word strip stickers: 7Gypsies. Journaling card: Collage Press. Ink Pads: TH Distress Inks, StazOn Inks. Mask: Tim Holtz Idea-ology. Stamps: Paper Artsy, Prima marketing. Altered Clipboard (SIC July Challenge)

I've been so busy lately that I totally forgot to upload my altered clipboard which is for Scrap|Inspire|Create July challenge. Everyone has to alter a clipboard and then tell what we use it for.

I love this month's challenge because it is exactly what I need to get organised. I use it for reminders of what I datelines I have to complete each month and what challenges I want to try.

So here's my altered clipboard, using K&Co Amy Butler Lotus Tea paper collection.

You can see that I've made a pocket to put in my sketches. I love it and it's very convenient. So do give it a try. Click here to read more about the challenge and see the other DT's altered clipboard.

Celebrating Parenthood

For the month of June, Scrap|Inspire|Create is celebrating parenthood. All DTs are to come out with a scrapbook layout, altered work or anything that is handmade to interpret the meaning of parenthood to each of us.

I decided to make a wall deco using a quote as the main focus. This is my take:

I did a masking of Heidi Swapp floral strip. Blended in a few TH Distress ink pads, embossed some letters to spell out the word PARENTS, stamped the quote, added flowers and metal leaves as well as metal fastener as flower centers, embellish with my favourite tiny mirror squares and stamped and embossed "TRUST YOUR CRAZY IDEAS...". I love the stamp!!

So do give this challenge a try. You might win yourself a RAK. Please click here to see the other DTs' takes on this challenge.

SIC May Challenge - Blast From The Past

This month at ScrapInspireCreate, the challenge is A Blast From The Past. To scrap those sepia looking photos, the black-and-whites or even the coloured ones printed on old Kodak photo papers.

I guess for this challenge I couldn't scrap on Nadiah as she is not old enough to have really old photos. And so decided to unearth old photos of myself somewhere from the 70s to the 90s. Instead of scanning those photos, I rephotographed them which took less time and printed them in two different sizes and made a collage.

I also have this chipboard word "Pieces of Me" from ScrapFX that has been collecting dust and just perfect for the title.

Do hop over to the blog and try out the challenge!!

Materials used:
Patterned papers, flowers and crystal swirls: Prima Marketing. Chipboard word and swirls: ScrapFX. Chipboard clock face: Heidi Swapp. Cllock rub ons: Maya Road. Journaling card: Teresa Collins. Vintage words: Collection Elements, Pearls and blings: Kaiserkraft. Metal flower and butterfly. Tim Holtz Distressed Inks, acrylic paint, Adirondack alcohol ink.
