At The Zoo (Twisted Sketches #016)

Oh dear!! I should have posted this last week but I hope I'm not too late. The twisted sketch came out last Wednesday and the twist for the week is STICKERS. Please go here to see the sketch.

My take for the sketch:

Instead of using an extra piece of patterned paper behind the photos, as in the sketch, I decided to use a masking effect. Blended in several colours of Tim Holtz Distress Ink and it turned out kinda cool.

I tried to use different types of stickers in the layout and so you have cardstock stickers, puffy alpha stickers, epoxy stickers and those tape writer I used for journaling is a type of sticker too...

Materials used:
Patterned paper: Crate Paper. Cardstock: Core'dinations. Masks: Tim Holtz, Heidi Swapp. Ink pads: Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads. Stickers: American Crafts, Karen Foster, Dymo. Chipboard element: ScrapFX.

Sweet Child 'O Mine (TS#014)

It's the week 14 at Twisted Sketches and the twist for the week is METAL. Yeah.. my favourite kind of embellishment!! Please go here to see the sketch for the week and also see what the other DTs interpretation of the sketch.

Here's my take:

As you might know, the title comes from the Guns n Roses song. I just love that song. And most of the embellishment I used something metal, like the key and padlock on the tag, metal fasteners as flower centers and that beautiful dragonfly.

Materials used:
Patterned papers: Prima Marketing, 7Gypsies, K&Co. Cardstock: Core'dinations. Alpha stickers: Collage Press, Making Memories. Journaling tag: 7Gypsies. Flowers: Prima Marketing. Metal stuff: local shop. Ink pad: TH Distress Ink. Paper distresser: Heidi Swapp.

Two whole weeks just went by in a breeze and now it's time for another layout for Twisted Sketches. This week's twist is to use FOAM ADHESIVE. Please go here to see the sketch and to ohh and ahh the other DTs' take on the challenge.

A Baby Duck Encounter (TS #010)

It's another Twisted Sketches week for me. This week is sketch #010 and the twist is to use TAGS. See the sketch here.

Here's my take:

Photos are of Nadiah's close encounter with a baby duck. She was scared out of her wits at first but also curious. After a while she was able to get up, close and personal with the duckling and even had a go holding.. (or should I say squeezing) the little ball of yellow fluff.

I had fun with this layout, using Prima Marketing felt matties which I cut in half and lay it down side by side. ANd if you look closely, that white paper with grids on it, is actually the backing which comes with the matties in the packaging. Recycling, I'd say, is good fun!!

Materials used:
Diecut patterned paper: Collage Press. Journaling card (tag): Creative Imagination. Felt: and flowers Prima Marketing. Chipboard element: Pink Paislee. Alpha stickers: American Crafts, Basic Grey. Rub ons: Pink Paislee, Crate Paper, Basic Greay, October Afternoon. Others: Buttons and ribbons.

Pinky (Twisted Sketches #008)

This week's twist to the Twisted Sketches is using flowers in a layout, card etc... Of course I love making this layout because I just love flowers. The more, the merrier.. LOL!!!!

Anyway, here is the sketch, and he's my take on the sketch:

I definitely loved making this layout. Not only I get to used those Prima flowers, but also Basic Grey doilies. They are just too gorgeous for words!!!

The photo is of Nadiah having a glass of orange juice along the river near our place. What I wanted to capture is the way she's holding her straw, with her little pinky sticking up. In fact every time she has a drink, be it in a cup or a glass, her pinky will always be sticking up when she lifts them. It's just so cute!!

Do hop over to TS to see the other DTs' beautiful work and do give this sketch a try!!

Materials used:
Patterned paper: October Afternoon, Basic Grey. Cardstock: Bazzill Basics. Flowers: Prima Marketing. Journaling cards: Collage Press. Rubber stamp: Stap It. Ink pad: Tsukineko Brilliance, Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Alpha stickers: American Crafts.

Scrapaholics (Twisted Sketches #006)

This week's twist on Twisted Sketches is to use STAMP(S).

For once I decided not to scrap about Nadiah. But about me and my scrapaholic sisters. The photo was taken at Alexis after the Scrapbook Showcase, and I used the beautiful stitched paper from Prima Marketing. I made a tag to journal on and that's where I used the stamps.

You can see the sketch here. Do hop over to see the other DT's interpretation and join in the fun!!

Materials used:
Patterned papers & blings: Prima Marketing. Cardstock: Bazzill Basics. Stamps: Prima Marketing, Stamp It. Ink Pads: Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads. Chipboard wordlet: ScrapFX
