My Baby U

How time flies because it's another week at Twisted Sketches. I was out of town and totally forgot that I have to submit a layout on the day that I returned (whoops!!). Luckily we got back early, and so I had a little time to come up with a layout.

Anyway, this week's twist is COLORS, any how, any way. Please go HERE to see the sketch for the week and the many colourful samples from the other DTs.

Here's my take:

My play on the color twist is the blue and yellow combo that I've used in the layout. If you see the sketch over at Twisted Sketches, you'll see that there are supposed to be circles on the background. But as I said, I was late blah, blah, blah.. so I just used whatever I had on hand which are bracket frames. I just inked them with Distress inks, a little stickles on the blue ones and a little stamping on the yellow ones.

Everything on the layout except the photo comes from my April/May Swirlydoos kit. They have lots of awesome stuff in there!!

The title is an inspiration from one of my favourite songs by Marc Antony, of the same title. Love that song.

Do hop on over to Twisted Sketches and play along with this very fun sketch and twist!!

I like how you layered the frames. I never know what to do with those as putting a photo behind them doesn't appeal to me so much. THIS idea I will use!

Okay Yatie! I cannot believe you threw this together at the last minute! I think the chipboard brackets here are a BRILLIANT twist on the circles in the design! I LOVE IT! love the blue and yellow combination too! Love the Swirlydoos kits...but I find the paper almost too pretty to work with :) You ROCKED this!

Thanks, Nad.

Vanessa: I know what you mean with framing the photos. There's so much layouts you can frame the photos. When you've got a set of frames.. you run out of ideas pretty quick. This way I managed to use half of the whole set. I'm glad to have given you new ideas!!

Thanks, Lynnda. Blue is definitely my favourite colour too!!

Thanks, Nancy. Swirlydoos always have pretty papers and I almost keep this glittered one at the bottom of my paper stack. Like you said.. too pretty to work on. April kit was wonderful. It's this month's kit that I find a little intimidating. The whole kit is so dramatic, don't you think?? With the black and red theme...
