Walking Together

Here's another layout that I finished recently using Pink Paislee 365 Degrees collection. Of all the latest lines from pink Paislee, I have to say that this is my favourite.

I love the pleated ribbon and the Artisan tape, especially the tape because it's so easy to play around with. Some grey pearls on the ribbon just to add some details.

I also love that clear sticker border. When I first saw it over at Pink Paislee website, I just couldn't wait to get my hands on them.

The photo is of hubby walking hand in hand with Nadiah and my nephew, Amir. Taken at the zoo a few months ago and I just loved it.

Materials used:
Fabric chipboard alphas: American Crafts. Grey pearls: Basic Grey. Everything else: Pink Paislee.

Target: 100 layouts
Done: 42 layouts
To do: 58 layouts

Dream A New Dream

It's another week at Twisted Sketches, although I am late in posting my take here. The twist for the week is NEW, any way any how. Please go HERE to see the sketch and the awesome samples from the other DTs.

This is my take:

I decided to add the twist in the title which is part of a quote by C.S. Lewis, of which I had written in full as the journal which reads: " You are never to old to set another goal or dream a new dream". Isn't it an awesome quote?

As for the layout, I played with a little Glimmer Mist on the die cut paper and Perfect Pearls on the scrolls. It's been a long time since I used my Perfect Pearls and I thought I better dig them out before they start to hardened.

Materials used:
Patterned papers: Heidi Swapp, Crate Paper. Chipboard frame and scrolls: Bo Bunny. Alpha stickers: Autumn Leaves. Flowers: Petaloo. Clear border stickers: Pink Paislee. Others: Glimmer Mist. Perfect Pearls and Perfect Medium.

Reflection

Here's a layout I made out of this month's Swirlydoos kit. This month the kit is called La Vie en Rose and it's a beautiful black and red combo with music and symphony theme. Very bold and very dramatic.

Unfortunately I don't have that many musical themed photos and those that I have, have already been scrapped. So I went with a non-musical photo.

The photo was taken at a lunch date that the Scrap-It-Lah girls had as a farewell for Mazlina. The photo is this layout is a little blurry because we took it through a mirror, hence the title.

Materials used: Patterned paper: Heidi Swapp. Stickers (tags, tabs and borders): Creative Imaginations. Musical notes overlay: Creative Imaginations. Flowers: Petaloo. Flower center: Prima Marketing. Flower vines: Prima Marketing. Glittered alphas: American Craft. Word cards: 7Gypsies.

Target: 100 layouts
Done: 40 layouts
To do: 60 layouts

Us

Almost two weeks of no scrapping and now I'm back with a vengeance. I managed to finish 5 layouts in two days and some will be revealed now and others later on.

The first is a layout made for Scrap Inspire Create May challenge. This month SIC is hosting a sketch challenge. Please head HERE to see the sketch. Here's my take:

I used my very brand new Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage collection. I love the beautiful and bright colours of this line. Just reminds me of berries :D.

Photo is of Nadiah and me taken recently at a lunch event. I just love this photo. No matter what other people say, I still think that me and her looks the same in here.

Materials used: Alpha stickers: Making Memories. Alpha chipboard: Maya Road. Glitter: Stickles. Everything else: Pink Paislee Bayberry collection

My Baby U

How time flies because it's another week at Twisted Sketches. I was out of town and totally forgot that I have to submit a layout on the day that I returned (whoops!!). Luckily we got back early, and so I had a little time to come up with a layout.

Anyway, this week's twist is COLORS, any how, any way. Please go HERE to see the sketch for the week and the many colourful samples from the other DTs.

Here's my take:

My play on the color twist is the blue and yellow combo that I've used in the layout. If you see the sketch over at Twisted Sketches, you'll see that there are supposed to be circles on the background. But as I said, I was late blah, blah, blah.. so I just used whatever I had on hand which are bracket frames. I just inked them with Distress inks, a little stickles on the blue ones and a little stamping on the yellow ones.

Everything on the layout except the photo comes from my April/May Swirlydoos kit. They have lots of awesome stuff in there!!

The title is an inspiration from one of my favourite songs by Marc Antony, of the same title. Love that song.

Do hop on over to Twisted Sketches and play along with this very fun sketch and twist!!

Materials used:
Patterned paper: The Robin's Nest. Chipboard bracket frames: Technique Tuesday. Swirly frame, flowers, alpha stickers: Prima Marketing. Transparency frame: Little Yellow Bicycle. Antique crystal brads: Creative Charms. Rubber stamp: Kaiserkraft. Lace trim and ball chain: May Arts. Others: Glimmer Mist, Maya Road Mist, TH Distress Ink, TH Distress Stickles.

N - A Canvas From Aida Haron

Ok, I was so excited when Aida pmed me saying that she would be sending a canvas piece that she made for our swap. I have been looking forward to it since she pulled out my name for the swap in December 2009. And finally it's here!! Yipee!!

It's a beautiful piece she made for Nadiah with beautiful details and texture.

Aida is a genius at clustering her embellishment and not make it look like you just dump everything in one corner.. (errr.. I tend to do that!!). It's a mixture of highs and lows to create the perfect dimension.

Thank you once again, Aida for this beautiful canvas and for the whole other stuff for the charity.

Let's Play Catch

It's a brand new month and there's a brand new challenge at Scrap-It-Lah.

But first of all, let me say a big THANK YOU again to all of you who participated and supported SIL's Blog Hop for the whole month of April. We are all really thrilled by all the response and submissions and in case you have not checked, the results for all the challenge is out. Please go HERE to see if you're one of the lucky ones.

As for the winner of my challenge of 10 manufacturers, the winner is JOSIE. Woohoo!! Congrats, Josie. I just love how clean your layout is with lots of white space, and yet you managed to include 18 manufacturers!! What an achievement!! I've already got your address from Mich and will mail off the RAK to you soon. So keep and eye out for it..

Ok, now back to the new challenge for this month. It's a sketch challenge with lots of photos. Please hop over to HERE to see the sketch and all the beautiful layouts done by the DTs.

And here's my take:

This time I went with bright colours and playful feel for the layout that just goes with the photos of Nadiah and her Baba playing catch.

I'm not real good with multiphoto layouts. I would rather work with single or double photo layouts. But I like this sketch as the composition is very clean and doesn't feel cluttered.

So do join us in the challenge. You have until 31th May, midnight (Malaysia Time) to submit a layout and be in the running of winning a yummy RAK.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Core'dinations. Patterned papers: Crate Paper, KI Memories, Prima Marketing. Alpha stickers: Rose Mocha. Flowers: Prima Marketing. Clear stamps: 'Lil Davis Designs, Autumn Leaves. Ink pad: Tsukineko. Others: blings, tags, Glimmer Mist

Target: 100 layouts

Not Sharing

Here's another late post, which I should have done so last week. It's for Twisted Sketches sketch #47. The twist for the week is CLEAN... anyway, anyhow.

I have to say that I seriously can't do totally clean and simple layouts. I always have to distress a little, or spritz a little mist, or tear the papers here and there. So that was quite a challenge.

Please go HERE to see the sketch and the other DTs' awesome sample.

That is a clean as I could handle. I couldn't stop myself from spritzing a little Glimmer Mist and inking a little on two corners of the cardstock.

The photo is of Nadiah being typical Nadiah... not sharing her ice cream. This one time she just grab her ice-cream and turn her back to us and pushed her ice-cream bowl to the very end of the table. As far away from us as she could managed!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics. Patterned papers: Little Yellow Bicycle, Webster's Pages. Alpha sticker: American Crafts. Others: Prima marketing packaging paper, Glimmer Mists, TH Distress ink and brads (I can't remember where that's from)

Target: 100 layouts
Done: 36 layouts
To do: 64 layouts

Simply Nadiah

I am way behind in my updates. I should have posted this last week on the 27th. Most of you may have already know that Creative Scrappers celebrated their 2nd birthday in April and had a month long celebration where you could win lots and lots of goodies.

Months before that, CS were looking for readers to send in their work and they madee 40 selections who would be given sketches to make a layout to be revealed in April. I was lucky to be one of them and my layout was revealed on the 27th.

Please go HERE to see the sketch and all the other reader's fantastic layouts.

Here's mine:

I would like to say thank you to Creative Scrappers for choosing me. But I do regret that I was not able to participate in any of the challenges as April has simply flew by me. Although I do stop by from time to time to check out the going ons...

Material used:
Patterned papers: Chatter Box, Webster's Pages, Creative Imaginations. Alpha stickers: American Crafts. Chipboard elements: American Crafts, Scenic Route Paper Co. Stickers: 7Gypsies. Others: tag, ribbons, brads and a button.
