Happy

"Happy" is an adjective I would choose to define Nadiah. She is such a happy go lucky kinda girl that on the odd occasion that she cries, everyone would start to worry because it is such a rare case. Most times you will always see her laughing away, just enjoying herself in that moment.

Hence the title of my layout, which I made for this month's LOVE challenge in ScrappinKids. It's a simple layout but very meaningful.

Materials used:
Patterned papers: DCWV, My Mind's Eye. Cardstock stickers: Making Memories, EK Success. Chipboard stickers: My Little Yellow Bicycle. Blings: Prima Marketing. Rub ons: Daisy D's. Chipboard letters: American Crafts. Clear tape: Prima Marketing.

Two Scoops (CCG #109)

This week's Color Combos Galore comes out with the colours pinks and black. My absolute favourite!! The colors are: White Coconut, Strawberry Cream, Raspberry Swirl and Black Licorice.

I did a layout of Nadiah having 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream. She seemed to be enjoying herself so much that I had to snap some pictures.

I decided to keep this layout a simple one because for the most part, that black brocade Hambly Screen Prints patterned paper is outstanding on its own. To cover up too much of the paper would be a crime!!

Materials used:
Pattern paper: Hambly Screen Prints. Diecut paper: KI Memories. Foam alphabets: American Crafts. Brads: a Japanese brand. White Sakura Jelly pen.

Birthday Wish - kLavu (January Giveaway Layout 2)

Here's the 2nd layout I made for the second winner of January Giveaway. This one is for kLavu. The picture is of her children with their grandfather on his birthday. I've inserted a blank journaling card for her to write something on it.

kLavu, hope you like it!!

Love You

I didn't plan to scrap today but not all things planned go the way we want it to. In this case... I just felt like it..:D

Decided to make a layout for February challenge in Scrappingchix. The challenge is:

Create a LO of your loved ones (parents, husband/wives, kids, girlfriend /boyfriend, friends or even pets), it can be of any size. You can submit as many entries. But here's the catch, in the LO you have to use at least 1 product from Scrappingchix, it can be the paper, cardstock, embellishments stamps etc.

I didn't only use one item from SC, but everything in this LO comes from the shop. Well.. except for the photo, of course! And the Pink Paislee border strip paper. Oh and Tsukineko Brilliance ink pads I used to ink the dragonfly. Ok, so ALMOST all the items used comes from the shop...

My take:

Materials used:
Pattern papers: DCWV, Pink Paislee. Flowers: Prima Marketing, Rub Ons: Maya Road. Cork alphabets: Bella!. Chipboard dragonfly: ScrapFX. Journaling card: K&Co. Brads: Don't know the make but got it from Nad too! Ink pads: Tsukineko Brilliance.

Family - Hani (January Giveaway LO)

This is the first of the three layouts that I promised to make to the three winners for last month's LO giveaway. This one is for Hani. Hope you like it!!

Hani gave me a beautiful photo of her family with the padi fields backdrop. I love the colours and it was great to work with.

The word FAMILY is actually a rub on. I applied it on a clear transparency and on the back of it, I applied StazOn Opaque White Cotton to bring out the word. The effect makes it look like I had applied it on vellum.

Believe In Your Dreams (CCG #108)

This week, Color Combos Galore comes out with a cool lemony color combination challenge. The colours are: Tornado Gray, Lemon Zest, White Cotton and Cool Mint.

This is my take for the challenge. I cut out the gorgeous K&Co Mia papers with its suede-like yellow floral element. The texture feels absolutely beautiful. The background paper is actually of solid colour but I blended in some Distress Ink (Mustard Seed) and stamped with Watermark Ink. You can just see some of the patterns with the Watermark Ink.

I didn't snap a close-up photo of the chipboard letters, but if you look closely, you'll see that I've applied some rub ons and blended with distress ink.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Bazzill. Patterned Paper: American Crafts, K&Co. Flowers: Prima Marketing. Alphabet stickers: Autumn Leaves. Chipboard alphas: Basig Grey, Maya Road. Acrylic stamps: Fancy Pants Designs, 'Lil Davies Designs. Ink Pads: Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Tsukineko Watermark Ink. Acrylic paint: Alpha Colors. Rub ons: Hambly Screen Prints. Lace: local shop
