Just Be You

Hello everyone!!

I am so excited to share this new layout/altered project with you. I found a blank 12x12 jigsaw puzzle set in Daiso some months ago and thought.. "hmmm this would be great to alter". And so I did.. and it was fun!!

I inked each of the jigsaw pieces and stamped on the bottom. Once it's completely dried, I applied Rock Candy Crackle Paint to give that cracking texture.

Chipboard butterflies sprayed completely with Apple Candy Glimmer Mist and added blue crystals. I just love that cracking effect.

It's not very difficult to do this, trust me. t just takes a lot of patience waiting for the paint and ink to dry.

I love those quotes from 7Gypsies which I think is appropriate with the whole theme of this layout. As many of you know, Nadiah is autistic and I had chosen jigsaw puzzles because jigsaw pieces has always been the emblem for autism. It represents the missing piece that we have to find to make the kid complete because as of today, no one knows the cause of autism. There are a lot of theories but no exact cause. Plus, I love jigsaw puzzles and it's a love that has been passed down to Nadiah. Anyway, the quote "for a long time, she flew only when she thought when no one was watching" I think describes Nadiah's progress over the years. She has gone from no communication to speaking her mind and having an opinion. I am so very proud of her and I know that there is still a long way to go but I am so ready!!!

Horse Riding

Hello srappers!!

Here's another black, white and red layout I made recently. It seems that I've made this particular colour combination layout quite a few these last few months. But hey.... I like it! Plus it goes with Nadiah's black, red and white outfit in the photo.

I combined a few different manufacturers for this layout mainly My Mind's Eye, Chatterbox, Prima, Zva Creative, Bo Bunny, Ranger, Creative Imagination and a couple more.

The swirly pearls are from Zva Creative. Their original colour was white but I turned them into red with alcohol ink. Easy peasy!!

The photo is of Nadiah's first try at horse riding at Singapore Zoo. Or rather sitting on a horse whilst the guide lead the horse around. But what amazed me was that she was not afraid to get on the horse. Sometimes it's difficult to get her to try something new but this time, she just hop on the horse as if she's been doing it for years. Bravo sweetheart! Mama will take you riding again soon...

Materials used:
Patterned papers: My Mind's Eye, Chatterbox. Journaling cards: Jillybean Soup. Swirly pearls: Zva Creative. Black pearls: Kaiserkraft. Chipboard frame insert: Bo Bunny. Glittered foam alphas: Creative Imaginations. Felt border: Prima. Flowers: Swirlydoos. Others: Ranger alcohol ink.

Together

Happy November everyone!!!

Did you have fun trick or treating? We don't celebrate although Nadiah wants to carve pumpkins like she sees on the telly.. :D

Anyway, a brand new challenge is now live over at Scrap-It-Lah. It's a colour challenge this month brought to you by DT Nadia. She wants you to choose a flag.. any flag of any country and scrap using only the colours from that flag. Please go HERE for more details and go ooohhh and aahhh at the other DTs' layouts.

I choose the Brazillian flag because of its bright green, yellow and blue colours. This is my take:

That's a beautiful yellow flocked paper from Chatterbox. Actually everything comes from Chatterbox except for the flowers, alphas and blings.

Picture was taken at Nadiah's Sports Day back in July. All three of us had on a yellow top with black trackies. At was a fun day for Nadiah being able to participate in some of the events as well as being able to run around without a care.. :D

So do hop over to SIL and join the challenge. You might just be the winner of a yummy RAK!!!

Materials used:
Patterned papers, rub ons, chipboard and diecuts: Chatterbox. Flowers & blings: Prima. Chipboard alphas: Maya Road. Others: Stickles and Maya Road mist.
