Looking Through The Bubbles

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

I'm back again to share another layout made with Swirlydoos Lavender Escape kit. As the name suggested, it's full of shades of purple and I had just the right photo with Nadiah wearing a purple top.

The papers and vellum are from Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue collection. I cut out the bigger filmstrip and the teal border from 2 of the papers. Then added some Tim Holtz filmstrip

Randomly applied the crystals just to give that coloured bubble effect.

Photo is of Nadiah playing bubbles. She blew lots of bubbles and was just running around in the midst of them. I just started snapping pictures and love how clear the bubbles came out in the photo.

Materials used:
Patterned papers, vellum, alpha sticker & journalling card: Webster's Pages. Flowers, leaves & crystals: Prima Marketing. Metal vintage frames: Creative Charms Others: Tim Holtz filmstrip and Tim Holtz distress ink

Sketches2Scrapbook

Ok, I have the best news to share!! You know when you're starting a layout and you're out of ideas? Isn't it such a chore to flick through a stack of magazines or sitting in front of the computer for hours browsing for ideas? How would you like to have sketches on the go and samples of layouts too?

Sounds interesting? Well pretty soon you'll be able to!!

Anam Stubbington of Twisted Sketches has come out with this brilliant idea of creating a sketches application for iPhone, iPad and iTouch users and later on for all other smartphone users. It's called Sketches2Scrapbook. How cool is that??!!

Some time in early August, Anam emailed me and asked if I wanted to take part in a secret project. I said yes even though I didn't know what it was all about. A few days later she emailed again explaining about the application and I was so glad I said yes and be a part of this awesome project.

I've done 2 layouts but they are not to be revealed until the program has been launched which will be in early November. Please go to the WEBSITE for more details and updates.

Here are some sneaks which I took from the site..

Cool huh? I can't wait for the launch!!!

S2S also have a Facebook page which you could 'Like' and a Twitter page which you can follow. So whatcha waitin' for?

Unique

Hello my lovelies!!! It's a beautiful morning over here. Hope it's beautiful wherever you are too.

Today I have a layout to share that was made on a clear acrylic sheet. I haven't done a clear layout in awhile and love playing with misting and painting on one.

Here's what I came out with:

Here's the layout without any background paper. You can see the misting effect that I did and the coloured swirls.

This one is with a white paper background. Now you can see them even more clearly. The swirls were stamped with StazOn and coloured in with Perfect Pearls. And the mists are Glimmer Mist of course.

I wanted this layout to be with no papers whatsoever and thus used stamping, run ons, mists and painting. And some flowers and that beautiful scrunched up lace ribbon for embellishment.

I love this photo of Nadiah. It looks like she's posing at the camera like the girls in America's Next Top Model... hahaa!! She was actually in her PJs, on the bed and about to fall asleep.

Materials used:
Acrylic sheet: Clear Scraps. Clear stamps: Prima Marketing. Rub ons: Autumn Leaves, Scenic Route Paper Co, Pink Paislee. Flowers: RAK from Aida Haron. Bloomers: Webster's Pages. Buttons: Swirlydoos. Others: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Perfect Pearls, StazOn inks and acrylic paints.

That's You

Here's another layout I did this morning using mostly things from Swirlydoos kits, either from the September kit or previous ones.

I love these patterned papers from My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Union Square line. They are glittered and so beautiful. One of the diecut papers has "You should know that you are Charming, Adorable and ever so sweet" printed and glittered on one corner, and that's just what I want to say to Nadiah.

This is the layout that I came out with:

Those writings are rub ons from 7Gypsies. They look so real.. although my handwriting is never that beautifully done :(.

I cut around half of the glittered wordings and slipped the paper and photo underneath it.

Chipboard chandelier from Dusty Attic, which I coloured in using Smooch! pearlized ink from Clearsnap.... you know, those that come in the cutest little bottles that usually belongs in a makeup bag :D

This beautiful bracket frame is from Pink Paislee - Artisan Elements which I had spritzed with Glimmer Mist, rubbed with distress ink and outlined with distress stickles and yet the colour was still too pale for my liking. In the end I combined Red Pepper and Salmon alcohol inks and dab, dab, dab. It came out this beautiful brilliant red which I really love. Then just added those rub on quote and little birdie and voila!!

Materials used: Patterned papers and clear stamps: My Mind's Eye. Flowers, crystal swirls and flower centers: Prima Marketing. Glittered foam alphas: Creative Imaginations. Rub ons: 7Gypsies. Frame: Pink Paislee. Chipboard scroll: Bo Bunny. Border tape: 7Gypsies. Wooden bingo number: Maya Road. Others: TH distress ink, TH distress stickles, alcohol ink, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Tsukineko inks.

Captured

A few weeks ago, we were invited to a Hari Raya open house do by one of our neighbours. As usual whenever we attend these things, hubby and I would take turns looking after Nadiah and eating. When it was my time to eat, I saw hubby taking her out into the garden and in order to prevent her from running around, he sat her down on a big rock and kneeled down in front of her. They had their heads together looking at something or rather and I thought it was the sweetest thing I have ever seen.

Of course, being the avid scrapper mommy that I am, I had my camera with me and quickly snapped some pictures. Hubby was actually showing Nadiah some Ixora flowers that was next to her and how you can pull out the stigma and suck out the sweet "honey" (nectar). That certainly keep her busy for some time.. *wink*

Anyway, today I decided to scrap that moment and I used the sketch from Creative Scrappers #123. Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout:

Beautiful Prima flowers and butterflies. Awww... aren't they just lovely? Especially that lilac flower, which incidentally, I also used Fancy Pants Designs papers from their Lilac House collection.

Painted some crackle paint on the chipboard swirl just to give some texture and character. And I used a paper cup, top and bottom, to print some circles with acrylic paint on the paper.

Materials used:
Patterned papers: Fancy Pants Designs. Journaling card: Fancy Pants Designs. Chipboard swirl: Maya Road. Flowers and butterflies: Prima Marketing. Chipboard alphas: American Crafts. Chipboard card 'Father': part of RAK from Mich. Others: Tim Holtz Crackle Paint (Aged Mahogany), Tim Holtz distress inks (Vintage Photo, Wild Honey), Alpha Acrylic paints.

What's In My Bag (SIL October Challenge)

October comes a calling and a new challenge is up at Scrap-It-Lah blog. This month the challenge is to scrap the contents of your handbag. We ladies usually dump a bunch of stuff in our bags and once in a while when we pour out everything, we usually think to ourselves, "how the heck did this got in here". Hahaa... doesn't that sound familiar?

Anyway, the DTs came out with gorgeous layouts and photos of the contents of their bags... there are messy ones, very organized ones, one who carry very little stuff in their bags and one who dumps a whole lot of stuff (that's me :D). Please go HERE to see them.

Anyway, here's my take..

If you notice, I listed down what the things that can be found in my handbag. Among the usual wallet and sunglasses, there are a few things I have to always have with me. Namely baby wipes for all cleaning emergencies (which also includes for Nadiah and the hubby), measuring tape so that it's easy for me to buy clothes for other people, a notebook for when I get inspirations on a layout and I need to sketch or to list down things to buy and a thumb drive and a card reader... you never know when you need them. So there you go.. the contents of my bag.

Do hop over to Scrap-It-Lah and join the challenge. You might be the winner of a yummy RAK!!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Core'dinations. Chipboard alphas: American Crafts. Chipboard brackets: Technique Tuesday. Patterned paper, journalling cards, rub ons and all other embellishment: ChatterBox. Others: Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist.
