Twisted Sketches DT Changes

I'm so lucky. Why am I lucky? Because my contract with Twisted Sketches has been extended until June 2010. Yeay!! But there are a few changes in the DT line up though, and I would like to take this opportunity to say a warm goodbye to Jessy, Wati, Reija, Diana, Suzann and Lynnette. It's been great working with all of you and thank you for giving me such inspirations.

Please say hello and welcome to the new line up of Twisted Sketches Design Team, the remaining and new sisters:

Pocket Layouts

In my hometown of Alor Star, I have not met any scrapper as yet. Not one!! There aren't any shops either. In fact most times when I tell people I scrap, they would ask me what that is. When I try to explain, they would say ahh.. and nodded politely but have this blank look on their faces.

And I thought to myself, what can I do to make people "see" what scrapbooking is. So I came out with pocket sized.. or rather handbag sized layouts. Rather thank lugging around bulky 12x12 albums with me, this way I can just pop it in my handbag and take it everywhere I go.

Below you will see that I've made 8 of them. Each are 4"x4" and I try to use different elements and techniques just like how I would make 12x12 layouts.

Here's an idea of how small these layouts really are:

So if you're in Alor Star and a scrapper, please let me know. It'll be great if I can share this love of mine closer to home.

Looking Good

It's another week at Twisted Sketches for me. The twist of the week is WHITE and you can see the sketch here. Do join us in this challenge or just drop by the site to oohhh and ahhh over the excellent samples from the other DTs.

This is my take:

I chose to do a layout of hubby wearing a white suit. He had a thing to attend and was required to wear his white suit. I also decided to add some white here and there in the layout like the masking I did on the cardstock, the white clock face and sanded those chipboard alphas so that some white parts appeared.

For the background, I mix a little turquoise Perfect Pearl powder with Mustard Seed re-inker and a little bit of water. You can see some blue tinge to the yellow background from the Perfect Pearls although the shimmery effect didn't photograph well. But I like the end result and will surely be mixing some more PP and re-inker.

This is also my first layout made in 2010 and thus my new challenge begins: to make 100 layouts for this year and I mean strictly layouts only. Wish me luck!!!

Materials used:
Patterned paper: Sassafras Lass. Diecuts: Collage Press. White cardstock. Tim Holtz masks, distress ink pads and distress re-inker. Perfect peals. Maya Road metal clock face. Prima Say It In Crystals. Metal butterfly.

Target : 100 layouts
Done: 1 layout
To do: 99 layouts

Happy 2010

Wishing everybody a very happy new year and hope that 2010 brings you happiness, health and more scrapping mojo. .. :D.

With the beginning of the new year, my scrapping resolution is to scrap and scrap more. Incidentally, a few of us are taking up the challenge to scrap 100 layouts but this time it's only layouts. No including altered arts or mini albums like I did last year, but strictly layouts.

I just hope that I am up to the challenge!! Wish me luck ;D
