At The Zoo (Twisted Sketches #016)

Oh dear!! I should have posted this last week but I hope I'm not too late. The twisted sketch came out last Wednesday and the twist for the week is STICKERS. Please go here to see the sketch.

My take for the sketch:

Instead of using an extra piece of patterned paper behind the photos, as in the sketch, I decided to use a masking effect. Blended in several colours of Tim Holtz Distress Ink and it turned out kinda cool.

I tried to use different types of stickers in the layout and so you have cardstock stickers, puffy alpha stickers, epoxy stickers and those tape writer I used for journaling is a type of sticker too...

Materials used:
Patterned paper: Crate Paper. Cardstock: Core'dinations. Masks: Tim Holtz, Heidi Swapp. Ink pads: Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads. Stickers: American Crafts, Karen Foster, Dymo. Chipboard element: ScrapFX.

Sweet Child 'O Mine (TS#014)

It's the week 14 at Twisted Sketches and the twist for the week is METAL. Yeah.. my favourite kind of embellishment!! Please go here to see the sketch for the week and also see what the other DTs interpretation of the sketch.

Here's my take:

As you might know, the title comes from the Guns n Roses song. I just love that song. And most of the embellishment I used something metal, like the key and padlock on the tag, metal fasteners as flower centers and that beautiful dragonfly.

Materials used:
Patterned papers: Prima Marketing, 7Gypsies, K&Co. Cardstock: Core'dinations. Alpha stickers: Collage Press, Making Memories. Journaling tag: 7Gypsies. Flowers: Prima Marketing. Metal stuff: local shop. Ink pad: TH Distress Ink. Paper distresser: Heidi Swapp.

SIC Pick & mix Challenge

Scrap|Inspire|Create is having another interesting challenge this month, which is Picking & Mixing. What you have to do is to pick one theme for a layout, which you are given 4 choices. The each DTs has come out with 5 scrapbooking items/techniques each and you would have to pick one from each list and mix them together in your layout. I picked the theme Summer Breeze and picked Janiah's pearls, Yvonne's crackle paint, Eirnna's buttons and my own stamps. So here's my take:
