@ Your Own Pace

I made this layout today. It's about time I used those Crystaline tiles that my bought for me in Bangkok last year. Have been saving them for something special. Then I thought, all my creations should be special and each and everyone of the deserves the best from me. So why not?

Journaling:
Since the first time we took you swimming, you would only play in the baby pool. No amount of action on our part could make your try the bigger pools. Then one day, you just stood up and ripped the arm floats away and went to sit on the edge of the big girls’ pool. In another instant you were in the water having a good time. I know it takes strength and courage for you to try new things and do it at your own pace. And me & Baba are behind you 100%!!

Y = Your Smile

I had a fun online cropping session last night with the girls on Lovescrap. We can crop about anything and the only thing that we cannot use is pattern paper. I love this challenge because it gets my creative juice running. So here's my take on the challenge:

Friendship Puzzle Tags

Here's another one of the friendship gift album for my friend. But in this case, it's actually a mini puzzle tag album. Puzzle pieces are courtesy of Nadiah's old puzzles which are painted, stamped and embossed. These are really small, with the largest piece measuring slightly less than 3x3in.

A closer look at each of the pieces, front and back

Friendship Star Album

I love the idea of making a friendship album so much, that I've decided to make 3 more mini albums as gifts for my friends. Here's the first of the three. It's a 3x3 star album, which I've been meaning to do. I just love looking at it. It's so pretty when you open it up... :D

Blossom Friendship Mini Album

This is an album that I made dedicated to my three best friends. This year will be our 23rd year of friendship.

I used Maya Road's Half Blossom Book Binder that I bought from Scrappingville. The book is actually half a flower and when you open the book, it becomes one whole flower. The problem was, it is difficult to open the book flat and thus making it impossible to adhere paper. After studying the book for a few minutes, I decided to cut it up and making it into 5 pieces of flat flower shaped chipboards. Punch two holes in each piece and viola!! I've got a flower book.

I have not done the journaling yet. But thought I'll post the pictures anyway. Thanks for looking!!

M= Making Music

I loved doing the challenge in SnC so much that I made another one. This one has another three requirements:

1) use more than 5 blue or green buttons
2) use patterned paper as background
3) use 3 flowers

I've actually been saving these pictures for when I have a patterned paper with music notes on it. But the I thought... hey, why not make my own music notes. So there you go.. music notes made with some buttons and toothpicks (inked with black ink pad)

Q = Queen of my heart

This is a month full of challenges. I love entering challenges because they make me scrap a layout of photos which are piling in my photo drawer. And this particular one add to Nadiah's A-Z album. Then challenge is hosted by Liza in Scrap-n-Crop forum. We are given a bingo style card with 9 squares and are to choose any three squares either horizontally or vertically. I've chosen:

1) use any kind of paint
2) do a masking technique
3) use more than 5 blue or green buttons

Blessed

This is my take for Lovescrap March 2008 challenge. We are given a sketch and are to scrap about ourselves. I used Basic Grey Infuse patterned paper and die cut shapes.

To get the 3D look, I curled up the petals with a pencil and did some layering using pop dots. I also added glossy medium to some of the edges of the petals for added dimension.

I have to admit that it is quite a challenge to scrap about myself. For one, there are not many pictures of moi alone. Most pictures are taken by me and hence the shortage of self layouts. I must make a point to include myself in photo sessions in future!!

Another reason is that I am self conscious about writing or talking about myself. Especially when it is for public display. So this is indeed a big challenge for me....

Paperclip Swap

Here are some paperclips I made using scraps for a swap at Lovescrap forum. They are cute, fun and super, super fast to make.

C = CAT & Me

This month, Scrappin Kids is having a challenge on favourite things. I thought it is very appropriate to the LO I am working on about Nadiah and her cat. This would also be part of her A-Z album. The truth is, Nadiah has many favourite things which she simply cannot do without. But they come in phases. But a constant "best friend" that has been with her ever since she was a tiny little baby, is a cat (the stuffed kind,of course). Though they change sizes and shape, a cat they have always been. And the colour is usually orangey. She has no particular name for them but simply calls them all "Cat". She takes her cat everywhere she goes but Nadiah does know that she must leave the cat in the car when she's in school. But if the cat is not in the car when I go pick her up, she'll throw a fuss and simply refuse to get in!!

So here's my take:

Journaling:
"Cat" is your best friend. Simply cannot be without it. You will always be seen with "cat", hugging and kissing and sometimes secretly trying to feed it. Your love for "cat" knows no boundary.
