Turning Five

I have been meaning to scrap Nadiah's birthday year by year and have done 1st to 3rd birthdays. As I was going through my photo collection, I came across her 5th birthday pictures and thought I might as well get it over and done with. But I still have 4th birthday photos to scrap when I get those back from the printing shop.

Another thing that I've been meaning to do is an interactive layout. Since there are many pictures of the birthday, I decided to make an accordion album on a layout. So here it is:

I love that lace cardstock. Am reminding self to get some more. They are LO-VE-LY!!!

Scrap N Crop Online Crop

Phew!! What a night. I participated in an online crop held by Wati on the SnC Forum. Started from 9pm to 12am. Each hour we are given 1 challenge to be finished and post a picture in that hour. Man!! I have never scrapped that fast before. What's more, all my LOs are 12x12 this time. And ever since I started scrapping, I've only ever did two 12x12 LOs. And both took me a few days. This sure was a challenge for me. But it was fun, fun, fun through it all!!

Anyway, I managed to finish all three within the hour although the first one I had trouble uploading the picture and only managed to do so in the next hour.

So here are my takes:

1st Challenge:
GIVE ME 5 LADIES!!!

Do a layout with
1. 5 buttons
2. 5 flowers
3. 5 brads
4. 5 arrows

2nd Challenge
let's go MINIMALISTIC

do a layout on a pattern paper as a background, no cardstock
to have 1 word title
use :
1 rub ons
1 chipboard
1 stamp
1 line journaling

My stamping on the left was really badly done. But hey.. there's two others that should count. I made a mistake with choosing the paper but too late now.. had to work really fast.

3rd Challenge
LETS GET CRAZY...GO EXCESSIVE!!!

Do a layout using more than 1 photo
use more than 3 different kind of pattern papers
use different kind of alphas for the title
use more than 3 emblishments

I'm proud to say that I finished first for this. Only took me 15 minutes... :D

Swing

Another fast, cut-and-paste layout. The photos are of Nadiah on the swing set, which is one of her favourite thing to do. I have not decided if this would go in Nadiah's A-Z album because I've another alternative for "S". We shall see..

I used K&Co Amy Butler Sola Chipboard Alphabets for the word 'SWING'. It has green and blue floral designs on them which actually goes with the papers. Unfortunately, the designs became dull and almost dissapeared when I clear embossed the whole word. Tried glitters, but I didn't have the right colours. Tried stamping, but not the right colours either. So I tried acrylic paint and foam stamps. The colours work, but the images are so-so. Well.. I don't have any other designs, so they would have to do.

L = you are so... LOVED

Here's another layout for Nadiah's A-Z album. The picture of her when she was about 3 years old.

The words "you are so..." are rub ons. And that sunglasses on Nadiah's hair is actually her Barbie's glasses which she had broken.

A silver filigreed butterfliy which I rub some ink so that it won't look too silver.

K = Krafty Nadiah

Another LO that would go into Nadiah's A-Z album. Again, it's about her art. More specifically her colouring skills.

I used Dylon Dimensional Pearl Paint to make the dots on the swirlies.

F = Frame It Up

Nadiah was watching Barney one day, and was really intrigued by the kids making a picture frame. So she got some of my foam sheets and proceeded to make her own. A piece of pink foam, strips of red, blue, yellow and green foam decorated with colourful buttons to make the border. I thought it was a lovely thing to scrap about. What's more, the picture I used is of her holding the said frame. I just think it's cute, but then again, I'm biased!!

This will go into her A-Z album.

R = Her ROYAL Cuteness

Another LO for Nadiah's A-Z album. We went shopping and while waiting for our turn at the counter, Nadiah was goofing around and making faces. She was so cute that I couldn't help snapping a few pics.

I did a lot of sewing for this layout. But the scallops were quite a challenge. So I just run it through the sewing machine, making it look like I purposely did a random stitch.

Some blings on the ribbon buckle.

Doodled on the alphas making it look like stitching

More blings on the crown. I just loooveee the chipboard crown that I got from Michelle. Stamped it with Brilliance Dew Drop Ink and added the blings. Thanks, Mich!!

Sneak Peaks

Been really busy these past few weeks with everything at home that I've hardly had any time to post an entry. I've done a mini album, an altered art, a 12x12 layout and an 8x8 layout. Here's some sneak peaks.

I'll post the whole thing later one
